I DIDN'T START WITH MUSIC. I STARTED WITH STORIES.
Some stories are remembered. Others become songs.
I'm Daniel Serra. I was born in Rosario, Argentina, and today I live in Los Angeles. For years, the stories were always there: memories, people, encounters, goodbyes, simple moments, and others that leave a mark forever.
Over time, I found in music a way to give those stories another life.
I don't write songs to invent a story. I write because first there was a story that needed to become a song.
FIRST THE STORY. THEN THE SONG.
Technology can help create music. The emotion has to come from somewhere else.
Every song begins with an idea, a memory, or an emotion. From there, I shape the lyrics, the story, and the musical atmosphere that brings it to life.
I use digital tools as part of the creative process, but they are just that: tools. The heart of every song comes from the story behind it.
Depending on what the song needs, the music may include acoustic and electric guitars, piano, harmonica, saxophone, percussion, or other instruments that help give each story its own identity.
